I believe that the finished product depends on so many little details, from inception to all aesthetic aspects like posing, lighting, makeup and post-production retouching. Based on a specific idea you have in mind or if you trust my inspiration and guidance, I enjoy immersing myself in the entire creative process to achieve that exceptional, polished end result.

BACKDROP SETS
Shooting on a black, white or colored backdrop can create some gorgeous images. These shoots are done in studio. I love these shoots because they isolate the subject, making her the entire focus of the image, rather than including a setting in the story like a room or location.

VANCOUVER SESSIONS
As I am originally from Vancouver, I retain a significant client base in that area. I plan trips to the city every few months to accommodate by scheduling all models that desire to shoot over a period of several days. There are only a few spots in any given trip and they fill up fast so get in touch with me to get on the waiting list for my next trip!

My place or yours? I love shooting subjects in their own home or in interesting locations. But my Kelowna home (Studio Luxe), is always available and serves as a glamorous backdrop with lots of different areas and vibes to shoot in!
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR SHOOT
BE CAMERA READY
HANDS & FEET:
Who needs an excuse for a mani-pedi? Whether you’re a short natural nails kinda girl or have long luxe claws, just be sure your set is fresh and toes are tidy 😉
FACE:
Clean, exfoliated skin and lips with moisturizer and lip balm only.
HAIR:
Clean hair is best. No styling necessary.
BODY:
Exfoliate and moisturize from head to toe. Shave the day of your shoot.
HEALTH:
Be well rested, eat healthy and stay hydrated the week before. This will ensure you avoid water retention and give you energy and a great attitude for your shoot.
SKIN TONE:
Porcelain to deep dark and anything in between will photograph beautifully, however if you are going for a more warm, bronzed look a tan is required. Believe it or not, there is no Photo Shop tool to replicate a truly natural looking tan. An organic, real tan is always best but a well done, streak free spray tan can be an alternative.
WHAT TO BRING
A little something extra is included in every shoot: For health and safety every model gets a new set of strip eyelashes, makeup sponge and powder puff. These are yours to keep. You are welcome to bring your own lashes if there is a particular set you prefer as well.
LIQUID FOUNDATION:
My makeup kit is loaded with everything you will need to get into ultra-glam mode, however I choose not to keep stock of liquid foundation. There are so many skin tones and finishes that I would have to keep 50+ bottles and replace when expired. For this reason I leave it up to each model to bring her favorite liquid foundation with her.
CLOTHING, SHOES & ACCESSORIES:
The more the better! Don’t be afraid to over-pack. Bring as many options for outfits, shoes, jewelry etc as possible. It is best to have a wide variety of options to pull from to create your looks. Sometimes what you think would or wouldn’t look good on camera often does or doesn’t. And don’t be afraid to get creative or think outside the box. Sometimes even an oversized sweater or a bold accessory can make for a gorgeous look.
WHAT TO EXPECT
• TIME: Shoots last anywhere from 3 – 6 hours including glam and camera time.
• DON’T BE AFRAID TO EAT! Make sure you aren’t hungry during your shoot. Eat non-bloating foods beforehand. Depending on how long your shoot is, bring a snack and water. Photo shoots last for hours and can be challenging physically with certain poses. Make sure you have lots of energy.
• STYLING: The first thing that happens when you arrive for your shoot is we will go through any wardrobe you brought and pull pieces to put together your look(s) then plan an area to shoot in that will compliment the vibe. Hair and makeup is then tailored to tie everything together and complete the look.
• POSE COACHING: Most of us aren’t professional models so don’t feel like you need to know how to pose. I will provide as much guidance as you desire and direct your body positions and help with facial expressions. This will build your confidence and remove the burden of trying to think of what to do. But don’t let me stop you, if you want to let loose and experiment, that is always fun too!
• CHALLENGING POSES: Some poses can be physically challenging or even feel awkward. It may not feel like it at the time, but you actually look amazing and these can make some of the most stunning shots.
• HAVE FUN!!! Shoots above all should be fun. I want you to feel confident, beautiful and comfortable through the whole process. Let me know beforehand or anytime during your shoot if there is anything I can do to make the experience even better for you.
